My oldest son James Matthew is getting married to the love of his life Alexandra Hardy two weeks from today! I could blog endlessly about this wedding and how excited I am, and also how stressful it is to coordinate such an affair. ( not just me of course!) The details are endless but the excitement keeps the frustration at bay! One of the tasks I volunteered for enthusiastically was to paint ( or have painted by our most talented artist Mary Albert)... 75-100 wedding ornaments to give as wedding favors. We have been asked to do this for other weddings many times in the past and have come up with some really nice designs, so it was pride and honor that I signed on to come up with several great designs for this most important wedding. The first design was one to be given to the bridal party ( bridesmaids). We decided to paint the bride in her beautiful dress flanked by two of her bridesmaids in their beautiful dresses holding their flowers and pointing their stunning pink and blue be-clad feet out for all to admire! White dress with Blue shoes and Blue dresses with Pink shoes Is the featured fashion statement of this sophisticated bridal party. Our design was painted on large sand dollars and ribbon-ed and tagged as an ornament but also given with a small plate stand so the girls could display them on tables or counters as a prized piece of home decor. Our other designs are equally as fun...I just need to get them all done on time...which is two weeks from today!
It is so much fun to be able to do this for my new daughter-in-law. We do these kinds of things as part of Chesapeake Bay Christmas Co all the time...but when it is for your own it takes on a special meaning. It makes me happy to know these little ornament jewels will last well into the future, reminding its owners of a lovely little wedding held on the banks of the York River where a stunning young couple started their lives together.
Thanks for reading!

What a great idea for a party favor. I am sure the wedding will be stunning.
That sounds really lovely. 75-100 ornaments! How do you do that? That just...it's impressive, really.
