Hoped, had Faith.... and now I Believe!

Thank you everyone who has been supporting our wedding plans with your prayers! You did it...we did it ....we had a wedding that I do not think could be any more memorable or any more fantastic! It was in God's hands and although we sweated it every inch of the way (against His instruction!) he gave us a perfectly memorable wedding day! As you know the weather was what we were up against on Saturday April 16th the day my son and his bride picked to be their day for a picture perfect outdoor waterfront wedding in Yorktown, VA.  Need I say more?!!! Where do we start?
We tracked the weather forecast daily starting one week ahead of the wedding. I had 4 weather websites each inhabiting a tab on my homepage Internet....I just refreshed them each day and looked for the most optimistic for Saturday April 16. Everyday they each became less and less optimistic and more and more statistically sure that it was not going to be a good outdoor wedding day! Little did we know...
Friday we arrived in Yorktown at the Duke of York Motel to start receiving our out of town wedding guests. It was a picture perfect spring day on the Riverwalk! There were blue skies, budding trees, sandy beach, a nice breeze, colonial atmosphere, and a very nice little Motel to accommodate us! It all put us in a very hopeful state of mind.
The tide was turning though and by the afternoon the gentle breeze was taking on a little more aggressive posture and the blue sky was turning grey. By the time of the wedding rehearsal at 4:30 pm, as much as we wanted to deny it,  we knew that we needed to rehearse this wedding under the tent rather than outside on the green lawn where Alex had planned for it to be. It was at that  moment we faced the fact that this was not going to be the wedding that we had planned.
To be continued....
